Who's Responsible?

I received a very interesting question from a fellow blogger akinabalu about who's responsible of the garbage in Sembulan area.

Who is responsible?

Of course, ALL of us! (o: All of us have the responsibility to care for the environment wherever we are.

The Local Authorities are only here to assist us manage our garbage (among other things). At the end of the day, our garbage is our own responsibility. For instance, at home, my family and I practice waste segregation. What we can recycle, we send to the recycling centres. There are a few in KK. We also do kitchen waste composting using a special bucket and a compost starter called bokashi.

Having said that, at the moment, it is fair to acknowledge that there may be limitations in services to collect rubbish or recycling. But I know the efforts are being stepped up to improve the situations.

Thanks akinabalu for your concerns. Really appreciate it. Cheers!

Hi Osindak, Very pleased to hear that you are using a Bokashi bucket. They're great for all those meat and fish scraps - unless of course the dogs get there first.
